- During the final few days of the silly season, we took some time to rethink the how we send out the ottawan and we made a few tweaks.
- You’ll notice we've put the weather up top, we’ve changed the sizes and typefaces of some of the subheadlines to make them easier to read, and we’re going start printing agendas from City Hall to help readers anticipate what will be talked about.
- We also were listening to podcasts about newsletters – oh yes, there are such things – and one guy recommended breaking out music listings into a separate section. So we’ve done that.

All elementary and high schools run by the the Centre des services scolaire au Coeur-des-Vallée will be closed, at least for the day. After school programmes are also closed. 🛠️ Somerset House 🔨 Elegy - Raymond Moriyama, architect of City Hall and the Canadian War Museum, has died. Moriyama was also known for designing the Bata Shoe Museum, the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, the Toronto Reference Library, and the Ontario Science Centre. Premier Doug Ford is planning to demolish the latter and move the contents to Ontario Place in Toronto. In 2009, Moriyama was inducted into the order of Canada and won the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts. He said his interest in architecture began when he secretly built a treehouse under the nose of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police when his family was interned in a camp for Japanese Canadians during the Second World War. ✈️ Ottawa International Airport - WestJet doubles its number of non-stop flights to Calgary. WestJet will increase the number of non-stop flights on its Ottawa – Calgary route to 14 from seven, October 30. Air Canada announced last week that it was dropping all non-stop Ottawa – Calgary flights in the autumn. (CTV)
