There are two interesting Civic debates going on tomorrow, in both of which you can participate from the comfort of your own home (if you choose).

🏢 The Annual General Meeting of the Ottawa Community Housing Corporation will be held tomorrow as part of the regular City Council meeting.

The Corporation houses 32,000 people in Ottawa, and four members of City Council sit on its board, plus there's an automatic seat for the mayor. You can watch the meeting starting at 10:00 on the City’s YouTube channel.

🚲 The Bank Street Active Transportation and Transit Priority Study of the Glebe section is looking at options for improving the experiences of transit users, pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users, and more. It’s from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Zoom – but you must register today here.

🪧 Canadian Border Services Agency

• The Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Customs and Immigration Union have reached a tentative agreement with the Treasury Board. Details have not been released but some subjects under negotiation were pay parity with the Mounties, remote working, and retirement benefits. A strike was scheduled to begin Friday. 🎓 University of Ottawa

• A 27-year-old man has been charged for setting off a pepper-like spray on a security guard during a University of Ottawa convocation. The man was one of several people who disrupted graduation at the Shaw Centre. (Marlo Glass in the Ottawa Citizen)
  
  ➕ Related Campaigners encamped on the grounds of the University of Ottawa rejected an offer by the administration to share its list of investments if students promised to not disrupt convocation. The encampers want the University to divest shares of Israeli companies and to cut ties with academic institutions in that country. 

✈️ Ottawa International Airport

•  Mexicana Airlines is mulling direct routes between Ottawa and Tijuana. The Mexican state run airline made an announcement the other day detailing its plans to create new routes to Montreal, Vancouver, Portland Ore, and Ottawa, as well as an expansion of its existing US hubs. The airline has not made a formal announcement of specific routes, nor has it yet negotiated with the Ottawa International Airport. (William Eltherington at CTV)

🚧 Bank Street

• Prepare for traffic disruptions on Bank Street for the next few years. Starting today, phase one of the Bank Street Renewal Project will reduce traffic to one lane each way between Riverside Drive and Collins Avenue. Everything is getting an upgrade: watermains, sanitary and storm sewers; further, there will be a rebuild of the road and sidewalks, and new cycle tracks, street lighting, and traffic signals will be installed. (Bank Street Renewal Project)
