HELLO OTTAWA

Meals on Wheels is in a desperate need of volunteer drivers. You don’t even need a car, you can be paired with someone else.

Meals on Wheels delivered 120,000 meals to 1,600 clients last year but the lack of people means some people are not getting their meals at all.

Those interested in volunteering can check out their website here.

Catherine Morrison in the Ottawa Citizen has looked up the histories of the 10 buildings that the Federal government wants to ditch as surplus to needs. One goes back to 1902, another 1920, and two are former CBC buildings. The others are just old office buildings but generally all look pretty cool.
