- Anya Swettenham in the Carleton students’ newspaper, The Charlatan, went back to Ottawa Bagelshop and Deli after new renovations and a transfer of ownership to the founder’s daughter. It’s still all good and still has the wood burning oven.
- Ameya Charnalia at Eat the Street visits one of the few restaurants with a perfect 5.0 rating on Google reviews, the Moroccan restaurant Moul Hanout. The showstopper was the seafood pastilla.
- Meanwhile, Peter Hum in the Ottawa Citizen ate at the restaurant that created Canada’s largest kebab – it was 65 metres long – two months ago, Al Halabi. Hum enjoyed the Syrian kebabs and buffet dishes, which come complete with sparklers.

🚬 Ottawa Public Health - Ottawa Public Health is asking the Federal government to ban the purchase of cigarettes for anyone born after 2008. Inspired by a New Zealand law, cigarettes would remain legal to purchase for everyone who is currently 16 years of age or older. For those who are currently banned from purchasing cigarettes by age, this will continue, year by year, until there is no one left alive of smoking age. ⚒️ Kìwekì Point Park - The statues of Kichi Zibi Innini and Samuel de Champlain have been reinstalled by the National Capital Commission. The two statues had long been placed together at Nepean Point park. Now after a $6.7-million renovation, the park is now known as Kìwekì Point Park, the statue once only known as ‘Anishinabe Scout’ has been deemed Kichi Zibi Innini – Great River Man in the Algonquin language – and both statues get pride of place on a gorgeous new plateau overlooking the river. 🛻 Convoy News Convoy co-organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are currently on trial for mischief and intimidation, amongst other things, over the Convoy occupation. - It’s the lawyer for Chris Barber’s turn to make an opening statement. She says ‘There is absolutely nothing wrong with people saying they're going to protest until they get what they want. They can stay six months if they do it peacefully, lawfully’. (Canadian Press)
