| đ„ OrlĂ©ans Explosion đ Alexandra Bridge - The cityâs most beautiful bridge will be closed for a year begining October. The Federal government will spend the year performing essential rehabilitation and repairs so that it can be taken apart in the future. The bridge will close October 2 at 2:00 am and reopen in autumn 2024. (Public Services & Procurement Canada)
â Related Hereâs the link to the Save the Alexandra Bridge Coalition who are campaigning to prevent the travesty of destroying the bridge. đ Museum of Nature - People can receive a prescription to the Canadian Museum of Nature. It took us awhile to figure out what is happening here. A group of health professionals believed that spending time in nature is beneficial to people. These professionals made agreements with parks and museums across Canada to give free admission if prescribed by a doctor. Then they set up a website for doctors to sign into and write the prescriptions. Itâs a half marketing, half encouraging healthy activity thing. Anyway, if you can talk your doctor into it, it's one free visit to the Canadian Museum of Nature per month. (Josh Pringle at CTV) (PaRx)
đ Indigenous Rights - Algonquins of Ontario are at odds with the Mattawa/Ottawa River MĂ©tis over fish and game rights. In 2017, the Province recognized the Mattawa/Ottawa River MĂ©tis as having aboriginal rights to fish and hunt game over the Ottawa River watershed. The Algonquins of Ontario sued the Province as they were not consulted. The Court of Appeal for Ontario has agreed and ordered a lower court to work out the rights of both Indigenous groups.
