Quote | | What’s going on at City Hall No meetings until January 16. | WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT | 📽️ Mickey Mouse Film - The new Mickey Mouse horror movie was filmed in Ottawa. Mickey’s Mouse Trap, which looks absolutely terrible even for horror film lovers, was filmed at the Funhaven Arcade on Baxter Avenue. The interest in the film comes because as of Jan 1, the character of Mickey Mouse has entered the public domain in the United States (Mickey entered the public domain in Canada in 2017 due to differing laws).(Sheena Goodyear at the CBC)
🖼️ National Museums - The Canadian Museum of History, Canadian Museum of Nature, the Canadian War Museum, and the National Gallery of Canada will be closed from Monday until next Friday. The closure is for annual maintenance. The Museum of Agriculture and Food Museum of Science and Technology, and Museum Aviation and Space will remain open all week. (Lynn Saxberg in the Ottawa Citizen)
🏎️ Speeding - Resident says that City is measuring for speeding cars on the wrong side of the road. The O Train was stopped for seven hours on Tuesday after pieces of concrete fell onto the tracks. OC Transpo says it's a veneer and not representative of a serious issue. Several City councillors say they will be bringing up the issue at the next Transit Commission meeting. (Leah Larocque at CTV)
