HELLO OTTAWA 🚊 NO Train: Day 9️⃣ Here are today’s updates on the closure of the Confederation Line. - OC Transpo made a public update this afternoon:
• Eight single-car trains are planned to resume on Monday, serving every station. That means a train every seven to eight minutes. • The replacement rail R1 bus service will continue to operate even after the trains begin running. • The leading and trailing wheel hub assemblies and axles will be replaced every 60,000 km under a new plan. • The report on the inspection of the axle hub that caused all the hubbub is expected on Friday. (OC Transpo) - Shane Séguin, editor of Rail Fans Canada, thinks that the proposed axle redesign is the best solution. Ripping up the rails or changing the trains would take years.
