Vlog with a CAMERA full SEND through a SAWMILL PLANER! It's been on my Wood World bucketlist for a while to get a camera down through the planer, hard to do when most lumber is sub-2 inches thick! Planer machines are fascinating so in this short vlog, I'm also explaining at a high-level what a planer machine does in a sawmill... or more specifically in the planer mill. Last week we were in Alabama on a project for GILBERT Products, capturing the variety of automated planer machines built tough for making wood products. There's so much to appreciate about the technology, overall design, sensors, motors, electronics, software, servos, knives, HMI and years of product development to plane the lumber well!
