The links below include recommended resources to address some of the upcoming awareness days, starting November 1st, which are important reminders for us to face the Truth and stay connected with our humanity and Mother Earth: Holocaust EducationTreaties Recognition, and National Domestic Violence Awareness.

Educator Resources:

  1. a) Provided by The Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre, click here to access online learning opportunities about the Holocaust, for Grades 6-12; and, in collaboration with Virtual J, click here to access their programming during Holocaust Education Week. b) Provided by the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre, click here to access teaching and learning resources about the Holocaust.
  2. a) Provided by Anishinabek Nation, What is a Treaty? is an interactive learning resource that helps K-8 students better understand and discuss treaties, agreements, and promises. b) Check out this list of K-12 (and beyond) opportunites to learn from Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers who share their experiences and perspectives during Treaties Recognition Week.
  3. Register for the Kids Help Phone’s Counsellor in the Classroom Program, which includes classroom activities and counsellor supports (and info about Kids Help Phone’s services) for Grades 6-12 to discuss mental health and wellbeing.
