Highlights from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board of Directors Meeting of March 10, 2022


The TNRD Board of Directors held its regular Board Meeting in the Twin Rivers boardroom of the TNRD Civic Building in Kamloops. The meeting was held via Zoom and with limited in-person capacity, in adherence with the TNRD’s COVID-19 Safety Plan. The meeting was recorded and uploaded to the TNRD’s YouTube channel. Chief Election Officer & Deputy Chief Election Officer Appointed

In advance of the 2022 General Local Election, the Board voted to appoint Deanna Campbell as Chief Election Officer and Agnese Saat as Deputy Chief Election Officer. The number of election officials required to manage polling locations will be determined once the nomination period has ended. View the report here.

Board Votes to Issue Formal Apology

The Board adopted a resolution to issue a formal apology to current and former TNRD staff and all citizens of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District for a previous lack of accountability and Board oversight of TNRD leadership, polices and practices. Canada Community Building Fund (formerly called Gas Tax Fund)

The Board approved allocating up to $18,000 from the federal Canada Community Building Fund, to fund the addition of a transfer switch and other minor improvements at the Loon Lake Community Water System. The funding has been allocated from Electoral Area “E.” Read the report here.
