Register Now | Immigrant Women in Trades Apprentice (IWTA) The IWTA program is a 100% government-funded, 10-week training program that supports women in British Columbia who are interested in starting a career in the skilled trades. Participants receive hands-on training and real-world experience in Red Seal trades such as Construction Electrician, Construction Craft Worker, Carpentry, Plumbing, and Welding. An IWTA Info Session will take place on May 4 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. | Transportation Trades Sampler Short Certificate The fully government-funded Trades Starter Training Program aims to address the under- representation of certain demographics in SkilledTradesBC-recognized trades by providing comprehensive pre-apprenticeship training and skill development. The program targets individuals who face barriers to entering the workforce, offering them opportunities to obtain sustainable employment, skilled trades positions, or apprenticeships within their communities or across the province. The program starts on May 25, 2026. Learn more | PBLMT Program Eligibility: Clients on Employment Insurance (EI) or BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA). Cook Training Program | PBLMT This free program supports people aged 19–25, including youth aging out of foster care, Indigenous youth, and new Canadian Permanent Residents. Participants receive free transit passes to help them get to and from the program, fresh meals every day they attend, skills training, social work support, counselling, and more — all at no cost. The program starts on May 18, 2026. Learn more | Office Admin plus Accounting | PBLMT This comprehensive, full-time program prepares participants for careers in accounting and administration, including roles such as accounting assistant, bookkeeper, and office administrator. It combines three weeks of essential and employability skills training with 15 weeks of in-depth occupational training in areas like bookkeeping, payroll, business communication, and Microsoft Office applications. Participants will also gain hands-on experience through an eight-week work placement with local employers, followed by two weeks of job search and employment support to help them successfully transition into the workforce.
