Public sector: new negotiation process

On December 4, Sonia LeBel announced she would soon be tabling a bill to modify the collective agreement negotiation process in the public sector.

She also announced that the government had abandoned the idea of modifying union structures in the health and social services system, a change declared unilaterally one year ago.

The APTS still welcomes changes in job classes, provided they create better groupings of workers based on their professional reality, they aren’t forced upon them and prior consultation is done.

Santé Québec: your comments are getting airtime

Many of you responded to the APTS’s Facebook status last week asking for comments after ten days of Santé Québec’s activities on the ground.

The strong response attracted the attention of Le 15-18, the Radio-Canada drive-time show. As a result, they asked Robert Comeau for an interview.

For eight minutes, the APTS president voiced your concerns and pointed to irregularities many members are already disappointed to see on the ground. Thank you!

RREGOP: lower contribution rates in 2025

Are you looking for a bright spot to close out the year? The RREGOP contribution rate will drop by 0.3% in 2025, from 9.39% (currently) to 9.09% in approximately two weeks.

This adjustment reflects the RREGOP actuarial valuation (in French) regarding benefits defrayed by participants, which used data collected on December 31, 2020.

To find out more about the RREGOP, you can sign up for Making sense of the RREGOP and other pension benefits information sessions (in French). Watch the Fil@pts for dates.

New technologies: for better or for worse?

Too many emails, too many apps to consult, too many notifications to manage? Is your cup full, even overflowing? This phenomenon and its consequences have a name: information overload.

This is part of what you’ll learn from the APTS’s 5th factsheet published as part of its information campaign on workload.

It also addresses artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies in the workplace. Are they as effective as the hype suggests? What are the impacts on your profession and your practices?

A little, a lot, a great deal!

According to our last quiz, the advent of Santé Québec concerns you a little (32.8%), a lot (37.3%) and a great deal (18.8%). That means that nine out of ten of you (88.9%) have some concerns, and over half (56.1%) are very worried.

Your concerns are justified. Just read members’ comments on the APTS Facebook page for insight. The changes imposed by Christian Dubé with Santé Québec and the targets set for his “top gun” are causing a stir.
