Welcome to the 'Student Anxiety' edition of Myles Ahead's curated educator resources. Anxiety can be a healthy reaction to danger, but when there is no danger and it gets in the way of your students' participation in the classroom, it becomes a problem.

Check out the resources below to find out how to recognize anxiety, what kids wish you knew, and videos that explain anxiety for kids and teens.

Resources:

  1. This week's first resource is from the Child Mind Institute and asks What Are the Signs of Anxiety [in Kids]?. The first step to making anxiety better is being able to recognize it.
  2. Next, this resource explores Anxiety at School – What Kids and Teens With Anxiety Need Teachers to Know.
  3. Finally the following videos explore the fight, flight, freeze response for Kids and Teens. Share with your class to help them better understand anxiety.
