Announcing "Supper Studio" as the winner of a free business license for participating in Taste of Okotoks

This year’s Taste of Okotoks was a little bit different than previous years. Unlike previous year's events, where restaurants would come together in one space for the day, this event was offered virtually and spread out over two weeks. We want to thank the nearly 20 local Okotoks restaurants that participated. A particular shout out goes to The Supper Studio, winners of a FREE business license for 2022! Congratulations!

Okotoks On-Demand Transit Awarded Minister’s Award for Municipal Excellence

Okotoks Town Council and administration are pleased to announce that the Okotoks On-Demand Transit program has been awarded the prestigious Minister’s Award for Municipal Excellence in the Service Delivery Innovation category.

Since 2002, the Minister’s Awards for Municipal Excellence program has encouraged municipalities to share their successes by recognizing accomplishments in the provision of municipal services in Alberta. Each year, municipalities, whether individually or in partnership with other organizations, highlight promising initiatives, new and unique approaches to issues, streamlined processes for existing practices and creative community partnerships.

The Okotoks Transit service aligns with Council’s commitment to provide residents with sustainable, flexible transportation options, and increases the opportunity to reduce carbon emissions.

New beach volleyball courts at Riverside Community Park complete and open to the public

The Town of Okotoks is pleased to announce the completion of several outdoor recreation facility improvements, including the addition of beach volleyball courts, at Riverside Community Park, located at 1400 North Railway Street.

The volleyball courts include one single court as well as three multi-courts with various net heights. Along with the four beach volleyball courts located at the east end of the new parking area, improvements also include the installation of seating berms, an additional outdoor washroom facility, landscaping, and parking lot upgrades.

The courts are open to the public during normal park hours (5 a.m. to 11 p.m.); and for the remainder of 2021 will be open for drop-in, on a first-come basis.
