Budget Information Night

Help us shape the future of Squamish over the next 10 years. Join us for a short presentation and panel discussion on the proposed District’s 10-Year Financial Plan and how your tax dollars will be spent over the next decade.

When: Wednesday, December 10, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Howe Sound Inn and Brewing

Appies and refreshments will be served to fuel conversation; alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome—RSVP here. We look forward to seeing you there!

10-Year Financial Plan Available Online for Public Review

Given the many competing priorities for the municipal budget, we invite you to explore what is proposed and provide your input. This will assist Council as upcoming financial decisions are made.

Budget discussions for the 2026-35 Financial Plan are as follows:

  • Dec 9 – Council will review all aspects of the budget in the 'Tying it all Together' meeting prior to the Budget Information Night.
  • Dec 10 – The public is invited to our annual Budget Information Night from 6-8 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the Howe Sound Inn and Brewing, and will include a facilitated discussion with Council and the public.

Weigh in and tell us what you would prioritize, and what you would de-prioritize. Municipal budgets must be balanced and can’t run a deficit. Increases to one area of the budget must therefore be balanced with either new revenue streams, or decreased spending in another area.

Visit letstalksquamish.ca/budget-2026 to explore our online budget tool, find event dates and Council links, and ways to provide input.
