Dear members, dear partners,
The Aéro Montréal team joins me in wishing you all the best in the new year.
In 2021, as the aerospace industry started to rebound, our companies went the extra mile to achieve – together – objectives focused on a green and sustainable recovery. They redoubled their efforts to share best practices and get involved in the cluster’s working groups, helping to significantly strengthen our ecosystem. Our companies also demonstrated tremendous confidence by securing long-term investments to remain competitive over the long term. They overcame difficulties resulting from the pandemic and constantly adapted themselves. They looked to innovation as a solution for achieving the goal of a greener future for the next generations.
Our companies are now well equipped to revitalize an industry that is geared towards digitalization and the successful ramp-up of production. But above all, one that is preparing for a low-carbon future, in keeping with our societal commitments.
We saw activity pick up again at the end of 2021. The increase in the level of orders was a promising sign for an efficient recovery. I am convinced that this resilience will enable us to make 2022 a successful year.
The continued mobilization of cluster members has, in particular, enabled us to transform fundamental trends into real opportunities. In 2022, Aéro Montréal’s members will continue to rally around innovative projects such as the Québec Aerospace Innovation Zone and will take advantage of the work undertaken with governments to plan major investments for the development of sustainable technologies in Québec.
As we help this industry build its future we will certainly face challenges. The biggest one will be to retain talent – and attract new talent. More than ever, our industry will offer incredible opportunities for young people who are enthusiastic about aviation, space and digital technologies, as well as all the related fields to which we must open our doors. It will be up to us to share this vision and implement it!
