February 2022 Guild Meeting Reminder

Meeting Date: Monday, February 21st, 2021
Doors Open: 6:30PM for mixing
Meeting: 7:00PM - 9:00PM

Join us this month to hear the lecture from the MQG called "Awaken Your Inner Colout Gnius" by 

Artist, writer, textile, and sewing pattern designer Carrie Bloomston will show you how to engage your own innate sense of color.  Carrie will touch on discuss basic color theory and help you to find your own resonant palette. 

We are pleased to share the Members’ Directory with you. It has been sorted in two ways: by geographic area and alphabetically by first name. Please note that the Directory is solely for guild-related activities and to be used only by current members of Vancouver MQG. Do not share this Directory or use it for any other purpose.

February Show & Tell Reminder

If you have recently finished a quilt and would like your quilt to be included in the February Show & Tell:

  • Send a photo(s) of the quilt(s) you wish to share to education@vancouvermodernquiltguild.ca . In your message please include:
    • Your name
    • Instagram account (if you have one)
    • A story about your project
    • Whether it is registered as a WIP
  • Please send your email in before 5pm on Saturday, February 19h, 2022.
     
  • We will put all the photos received into a PowerPoint presentation that will be shared on screen with members during the meeting.
     
  • Each member who has registered for Show and Tell will be invited to speak about their quilt(s) as their image(s) appears on screen. Please send a brief story about your quilt along with the images. (If you aren't able to attend the meeting or if you are having technical difficulties, we will be able to read out your quilts story.)
     

Plaidish Quilt-a-Long

Members are still welcome to join the Plaidish Quilt-a-Long.

Search the "VMQG Plaidish Quilt group" on Facebook, and JOIN!  Post your progress and follow along with others to see their progress. 

 

WIPS

Please remember that you can only register your WIPS with Loretta until the end of the Febraury meeting. She will not be accepting any more WIP lists when the meeting is over.

'WIP' is an item that is a "Work In Progress".  For an item to be considered a WIP, it needs to be started before January 1st, 2022. Dig deep and find those unfinished projects. 

To join the WIP program:

  • Make a list of the projects that you started before January 1st, 2022
  • Send that list to Loretta at lorettaromanko@gmail.com
  • E-transfer Loretta $2.00 for every item on the list using the email above
