Are you looking for some short-term training to enhance your employability and confidence?

Some Short-Term Certifications and Training are available:

  • Emergency First Aid / Standard First Aid - including Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Super Host (and variants such as World Host)
  • Serving It Right
  • Food Safe
  • Basic Computer Certification (e.g. Microsoft Office or equivalent) and others

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Essential Computer Skills for the Workplace (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Upon completing this training, participants will learn Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.This five-day online course is offered by DIVERSEcity’s Skills Training Centre. Learn general office administration and computer skills for the workplace using advanced computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Eligibility: Please check with your case manager/ employment counselor.

Canadian Advanced Manufacturing Leader Training program

The Canada Advanced Manufacturing Leader training program is a 12-week training program to help provide participants with sols needed to start mid-level careers within the advanced manufacturing sector including technical training, leadership skills, job readiness, and placements. The training, wid utilize a hybrid model approach with in-person and online training.

Carpentry Foundation Program

High in Demands Trades - 8 weeks of Skills for Success Training and 26 Weeks of Technical Training. Fully funded and with Work Placements Available. For Indigenous Peoples - Status, Non-status, Métis or Inuit.

Trade Starter Program (Mechanical Trade)

Fully Government funded Trades Starter Training Program aims to address the under-representation of certain demographics in SkilledTradesBC-recognized trades by providing comprehensive pre-apprenticeship training and skill development. The program targets individuals who face barriers to entering the workforce, offering them opportunities to obtain sustainable employment, skilled trades positions, or apprenticeships within their communities or across the province.
