2022 Municipal & School Board Elections

The Municipal and School Board Elections will be held on October 24, 2022.

Candidate & Third Party Information:

The candidate nomination deadline is Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Registration packages can be downloaded from the Elections webpage on the Town website or picked up at Town Hall during business hours. Candidate nominations must be filed in person by booking an appointment with the Town Clerk.

The packages contain all the materials needed to register as a candidate for the office of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor, Third Party Advertiser or School Board Trustee (Conseil scolaire catholique Providence).

Movies in the Parks

The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to host Movies in the Parks, a free series of family-friendly movies and activities hosted bi-weekly at parks throughout the community. Entertainment is provided by The Blue Mountains Public Library.

Movies start at dusk (approximately 9:00 p.m.), and everyone is encouraged to bring their own snacks, chairs and blankets.

Community Campus of Care

In early July, the Town released the Request-for-Qualification (RFQ) document, which aims to pre-qualify prospective proponents based on eligibility criteria for the Campus of Care development opportunity. On July 21, the Town hosted a voluntary pre-submission meeting where the Town provided respondents with an opportunity to review the development opportunity and site with staff to ask questions in an open format.

Drake's Path

Construction on the Drake's Path Wastewater Servicing Extension Project is scheduled to begin in mid August.

The Construction Notice has been issued providing an overview of the expected impacts of construction on municipal services, road access, traffic management and more within the project boundaries.

Official Plan Review

A Public Meeting regarding the Official Plan Review is being held on Monday, August 8 at 1 p.m.

The Official Plan Steering Committee is finalizing the technical changes proposed for Phase 1 of the Official Plan Review and is hosting the meeting to receive feedback from the public. A Public Open House was held on July 27 to provide information regarding the proposed changes and further explain the rationale for changes to the document.

Those interested in speaking at the Public Meeting or submitting a written comment can pre-register with the Town Clerk.
