Welcome to our July Newsletter!

As B.C.’s job market gradually shows positive signs, opportunities continue to grow in areas such as trades, construction, transportation, hospitality, and manufacturing. At the same time, we recognize that job searching can feel competitive and sometimes overwhelming.

With International Self-Care Day in mind, we encourage job seekers to take care of their well-being while working toward their employment goals. A great way to support your well-being is by building practical life skills that can help you feel more confident, organized, and prepared for your next steps.

This month, we are highlighting our Basic Life Skills program, which supports participants in strengthening everyday skills, building confidence, and creating a stronger foundation for employment and personal success.

Building skills, using targeted job search strategies, and connecting with employer supports can help you feel more prepared, confident, and supported in your next steps.

Please note that our office will be closed on Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1, 2026. We hope you enjoy the day off and have a safe and restful Canada Day!

Basic Life Skills Training

We’re excited to invite you to join Cohort 15 of the Basic Life Skills Program, starting Monday, July 6 2026 at WorkBC Vancouver Midtown East!

This in-person workshop series is designed to help you build confidence, independence, and practical tools for everyday life and work. Whether you're navigating adulthood, housing, health systems, or simply looking to grow, this program offers a safe and supportive space to learn and thrive. This program is being offered from July 6 to July 23, 2026.
