THE FAIRVIEW—CLAYTON PARK REPORT

Don't miss the Fairview Family Day BBQ

Hello Fairview Clayton Park!

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer and making the most of the beautiful weather. It’s been a pleasure meeting so many of you on your doorsteps—I’ve visited over 1000 so far and can’t wait to meet even more of you as I continue to canvas the riding.

This month, we have some fantastic community events lined up that you won’t want to miss.

Family Day at the Market is happening tomorrow! Bring your family, friends, and even your pets to enjoy a fun-filled day with a photo booth, coloring pages, and goodies from our 35+ vendors. Snap a picture and share it on our Facebook page for a chance to win a basket of goodies and market bucks!

I am pleased to partner with the Fairview Community Association to present the Fairview Family BBQ and Movie which is just around the corner on Saturday, August 17th, from 1-3 PM. Join us for a free BBQ, live music, and activities. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy a daytime movie, "Migration," on the field from 3-5 PM, complete with free popcorn.

Municipal Updates: Starting September 1st, Halifax Transit fares will be increasing, so be sure to plan ahead if you rely on public transportation. Additionally, the much-anticipated Dutch Village Road construction project has been given the green light. This redevelopment will improve safety and accessibility for everyone, with new sidewalks, bike lanes, and enhanced landscaping. Construction will begin within weeks, and while it may cause some temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefits will be significant for our community.

Thank you to everyone who has come out to the summer events so far and for making our community such a wonderful place to live. I’m looking forward to seeing you all soon and continuing our conversations. Your ideas and opinions will help shape the policy I will create leading up to the start of a very early Fall Legislative session starting September 5.

Until then, stay connected, stay active, and enjoy the rest of your summer!
