Resolved: Gas Main Break on March 19

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 19, a FortisBC gas line was struck during construction on the Fraser One-Way. Any affected businesses were evacuated quickly and safely to allow FortisBC to address the issue. After assessing and resolving the impacts, affected businesses resumed regular operations on the same day. On Thursday, March 20, the project contractor and City staff conducted business walks to check in with business owners.

In the event of a gas leak, you may smell rotten eggs. Stop what you are doing, go outside, and call the FortisBC Emergency Line at 1-800-663-9911.
