Meeting Reminder and Details

Meeting Date: Monday, January 17th, 2022
Doors Open: 6:30PM for mixing
Meeting: 7:00PM - 9:00PM

VancouverMQG's first meeting of the year will kick off with one of our members, Dianne Semark, provding us with informtion on the planning for the 2022 Showcase. (Finger's crossed this will be happening this year!!) 

Dianne will go over what the Showcase is all about, how you can participate and what you can expect if you want to volunteer to help. She will need a diverse group of volunteers with a wide range of skillsets and talents, she might be looking for you. 

Her talk will also serve as a reminder, to Get Sewing! so you can have a quilt to hang in the show!! Stretch your creative muscles!

If you haven't seen them yet, Dianne has also created galleries of photos on the VancouverMQG blog of the past two showcases in 2016 and 2018, for everyone to look at. If you have never looked through these galleries, you can find them by click here:

January Show & Tell Reminder

If you have recently finished a quilt and would like your quilt to be included in the November Show & Tell:

  • Send a photo(s) of the quilt(s) you wish to share to workshops@vancouvermodernquiltguild.ca In your message please include:
    • Your name
    • Instagram account (if you have one)
    • Whether it is registered as a WIP
  • Please send your email in before 5pm on Saturday, January 15h, 2022.
     
  • We will put all the photos received into a PowerPoint presentation that will be shared on screen with members during the meeting.
     
  • Each member who has registered for Show and Tell will be invited to speak about their quilt(s) as their image(s) appears on screen. Please send a brief story about your quilt along with the images. (If you aren't able to attend the meeting or if you are having technical difficulties, we will be able to read out your quilts story.)

 

WIP Reminder

2022 is here! This means another opportunity to get our WIPs (Works in Progress) cleared out.  Have a look around your swing room/spaces and see if you have any projects that you need some motivation to get finished.

Loretta will make a short presentation at the Janyuary meeting about the program and let you know how you can participate
