We hope you had a restful holiday break filled with good company! Now that it's time to ease yourself back into school again, here are some tips and tricks for getting started with your second semester of the year.

We're looking for 5 KIN Senior Orientation Leaders!

Do you want to become part of a dynamic, positive team of student leaders that work together to make a lasting impact on a first year or transfer student's experience?  Are you ready to take the next step in developing your leadership, group management, facilitation and problem solving skills?

We are looking for five (5) dynamic, positive, committed and goal-oriented students who thrive in a team environment. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the strategic planning for Imagine Day. You will also help develop and train a team of up to 8 Orientation Leaders in support of fostering a respectful, inclusive and welcoming introduction to UBC KIN!

I love how I can walk into practically any active Kin class and pick out at least a handful of students with whom I am close, because Kin pride is so strong and is cultivated right at the start of Imagine Day. "

2020 Winter Classic

January 17th, 7:00pm  | Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre

Come join us at the 6th annual Winter Classic, UBC's biggest hockey game of the year! Help us cheer on our Thunderbirds as they play against the Manitoba Bisons.

Doors open at 5:00pm. Come early to check out the pre-game festival, featuring live music, Thunderbirds merch, giveaways, a mechanical bull, and more!

Tickets are $10 for UBC students.Tickets are available online, and will also be available for purchase on January 15th, from 11:00am-2:00pm.

Have you spoken with the KIN Advising Office yet?

Now that you have one term under your belt and your first set of marks are in, it is a good idea to check in with an academic advisor to see where you are at with your degree and things to be aware of going forward. You can book an appointment by calling 604-822-4512, filling out an Advising Request Form on the website, or sending an email to kin.advising@ubc.ca (don’t forget to include your UBC student number).

Mon - Fri, 9:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm - 3:30pm

Withdrawal deadlines:

Friday, January 17th: Last day to drop Term 2 courses without a W standing

Friday, February 14th: Last day to drop Term 2 courses with a W standing
