The Blue Band                                                    June 2022

The Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses is the regulatory authority for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in New Brunswick. Our mandate is protection of the public by promoting the provision of safe, competent, ethical and compassionate care by its registrants.

Nursing Week Re-Cap

National Nursing Week was celebrated May 9th - 15th, 2022.  We hope that you all found some time to celebrate yourself, your colleagues and the profession of nursing.  ANBLPN recognizes the compassionate, ethical, competent and safe care that LPNs have been providing and want to thank you again for all that you have done, and continue to do, throughout the pandemic.

During nursing week ANBLPN provided a week of free educational webinars to our registrants.  We recognize that not all can attend due to shift work, which is why we always record our webinars so that you can view them at your convenience.  Webinars are a great way to reach your learning goals to be used towards the Continuing Competence Program.

If you missed any of the webinars, they have all been added to our website (www.anblpn.ca - Members - Webinars/Videos) and you can watch them at anytime or click the links below:

ANBLPN also released a video highlighting several of our NB LPNs from various practice environments on LPN Day that we invite you to view and share to help promote the important role that LPNs play on the health care team.

Preceptor a New Grad!

In consultations with the colleges, they continue to struggle with acquiring enough preceptors for our new PN graduates.

We understand that LPNs are overwhelmed due to the ongoing pandemic and staffing shortages, however we do hope that you will consider preceptoring a new grad as they will eventually become your co-workers and help alleviate staffing shortages.

As an incentive, ANBLPN will be drawing for 2 FREE REGISTRATIONS and LPN SWAG to all those who preceptor a new nursing graduate!  ANBLPN has developed two resources regarding preceptoring and working with nursing students that we invite you to review as you prepare to preceptor.  All nursing professionals have something to offer to new graduates and we hope that you will consider sharing your knowledge and expertise with our new practical nurses!

Congratulations 2022 Grads!

ANBLPN would like to congratulate all of our May and June 2022 PN graduates!  Good luck on your Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam and we look forward to welcoming you as registrants of ANBLPN!
