Spring 2021 graduation ceremonies for both campuses will be held virtually on June 2, 2021. If you are a graduating student or wish to attend the graduation ceremony, please check the website below for more information.

Along with UBC's virtual Graduation Ceremony, we will host a virtual Bachelor of Media Studies Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June. 3, 2021 at 6pm (PST) to further celebrate our graduates.

Verse Forward 2: Poetry on the Front Lines

Sign up for "Verse Forward: Poetry on the Front Lines", a poetry reading event featuring diverse poets speaking to the urgent themes of home, race, identity, and the environment we live in.

This event will feature award-winning poets Liz Howard, Larisa Lai, and Canisia Lubrin and will be emceed by author Phinder Dulai. The event will begin in the evening, starting with a conversation with the poets, followed by readings, including new work, and an audience Q & A.

Shining A Light On Fading Ads

Sign up and attend the event "Shining A Light On Fading Ads," an illustrated talk presented by the Friends of The Vancouver City Archives!

This talk will illustrate a new augmented restoration project and technique invented by Portland-based light artist, Craig Winslow, coined by him as ‘Light Capsules’. Hear from Craig Winslow himself about his technique, his passion and some of his favourite completed projects around North America.

The Work We Do—In a Different Light: Reflecting on Northwest Coast Art

In the second edition of MOA’s new series, The Work We Do, join MOA curator Karen Duffek and Musqueam guest curator Jordan Wilson as they discuss the ideas behind In a Different Light: Reflecting on Northwest Coast Art.

The exhibition invites visitors to see Northwest Coast art “in a different light,” placing extraordinary historical objects and belongings in relation to the voices of contemporary Indigenous artists, activists and other thinkers.

The Pender Guy Radio Collective, 1976-1981: The Reunion Show
May 29th, 2021, 12.00PM–1.30PM (PST)

The Pender Guy radio collective grew out of a wave of Chinese Canadian youth activism in the early 1970s and explored issues related to Chinese-Canadian identity, history, politics, and art. As part of this year's Literasian festival, members of the Pender Guy will share their memories on the show and play some of their favourite segments from the tapes.

Deadline: May 31st, 2021

We are pleased to inform you applications to become a Minor in Data Science are now open for Faculty of Arts students!

UBC's Data Science Minor is a new interdisciplinary program that enables students to gain the skills necessary to perform data science tasks in conjunction with the skills they learn in their major.

All Arts student going into Year 2 or beyond who meet the course prerequisites are welcome to apply.
