FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities.

The 2023 theme for Black History Month is: “Ours to tell”. This theme represents both an opportunity to engage in open dialogue and a commitment to learning more about the stories Black communities in Canada have to tell about their histories, successes, sacrifices and triumphs.

NEXT STEPS OF GARIBALDI NEIGHBOURHOOD PLANNING PROCESS BEGINS FEBRUARY 14

The next step of the Garibaldi Neighbourhood Planning Process will consist of a six-week public engagement initiative by the District beginning with the release of a variety of possible land-use scenarios for the Garibaldi Estates for residents to view.

The District will also host a series of seven in-person discussions with the community to explore these possible land-use scenarios in more detail. This will be a chance for community members to speak directly with District staff about the possible land-use scenarios, ask questions, and provide feedback in a conversational setting. Residents can register for a meeting when the dates are released.
