Fingertip Pulse Oximeters Available to Borrow

The library has four fingertip pulse oximeters available for patrons to borrow. These devices measure heart rate and oxygen saturation in the blood and can be used to help assess someone at home with lung disease or COVID-19.

Family Literacy Week Activities

January 23-30 is Family Literacy Week!

Celebrate Literacy this January! While we had to put a planned in-person program for Literacy Day on hold, you can still participate in Literacy Week with the following online and at-home activities:

Book Bingo

Keep track of the books you read this month by writing the title and author in the matching square. You can participate as a single reader or as a family.

See if you can complete a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line. You can also challenge yourself to complete more than one line or even fill in the whole bingo chart!

When you’re done, come hand it in at the Bowen Island Library (or put it through our book return slot), and we will post it on our Book Bingo Wall of Fame! This helps others find great titles to read as well.

Decoda Literacy Resources

These are games, activities, and information about children’s literacy, to get the whole family enjoying the wonders that come with reading!
