The City of Prince George offers a variety of recreation programs for all ages through our Community Associations with the help of hard-working volunteers. Alongside our Community Association programs detailed below, are a broad selection of activities offered by local nonprofit organizations, as well as more information about recreation and parks in Prince George.

Community Associations are the City's recreation delivery system. Volunteers offer low-cost neighbourhood recreation programs throughout the year. Reach out to one of our community associations below to become a volunteer or to learn more about the programs they offer.

Girls Fastball Development & League Registration

Our goal is to empower young girls through the sport of fastball, fostering teamwork, leadership and a love of the game while promoting inclusivity and skills development

Registration is now open for the upcoming 2025 season. We would love to see new players or returning players back out on the field!

Tennis and Pickleball Club

Adults and kids are encouraged to come out and try tennis and pickleball

We have 5 tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts at the club, as well as a shared multi-use court. We offer open play times 7 days a week with some regular programming on various days/evenings. PGTPC offers lessons for both sports. Fun and competitive tournaments are hosted throughout the season. Memberships are available or you can drop in anytime for a fee. Both sports offer a great way to stay active and have fun!

Prince George Lawn Bowling Club

                       Lawn bowling for all ages

We meet at least four times a week at the Bowling Green in Watrous Park (3rd avenue and Watrous).
Instruction and all equipment provided. Everyone is welcome to try it out. Current times (starting at the beginning of June and running until early October) are Tuesday at 10 AM, Wednesday at 7 PM, Thursday at 1 PM and Sunday at 2 PM

                    Ladies: Get Ready to Dragon Boat!

This is on-going preparation for our summer season of dragon boating, including pre-season paddling at the Aquatic Centre leading to early season lake paddling. The team is open to all breast cancer survivors and interested adult ladies, and practice days and times vary according to the activity.

Woodburning with Hailey Smith: Intro to Wall Art & Watercolours (Ages 16+)

Hailey Smith, local artist and owner of The Tamed Arsonist, will give various techniques such as line work, shading, transferring images to a wood canvas, oiling your board, drawing on a wood canvas and adding colour using watercolour paints. In this six week class, you will have the ability to complete a set of coasters, and wood-burn your very own wall art to display in your home, or give as a gift to a loved one.
