The Zoology Equity Diversity Inclusion (ZEDI) committee is here to address concerns and promote EDI in the department. These concerns could apply to any group of individuals who work or study in our department, including undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, administrative and research staff, and teaching and research faculty. For example, last October ZEDI hosted an event for undergraduates on tips and approaches to get started in research at UBC.
Cyber security brown bag: coming soon! The ZCU will be hosting a brown bag lunch - bring your own lunch - session on Cybersecurity this summer.

Poster Printing billing reminder: Just an update and reminder that poster printing will be billed each month.
Expect the billing for posters printed in May to arrive shortly.
Reminder: Upcoming Changes to OneDrive Storage Limits: as per the email sent from the UBC M365 Program on May 27, UBC will be moving to a 200GB storage limit for faculty and staff OneDrive accounts, this fall/winter.
Please begin to review your OneDrive storage usage in preparation for this change.
There will be a mechanism that would allow faculties and departments to purchase additional storage as needed. More information is expected by August 2026.
UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) virtual Summer School 2026 - June 1–5, 2026 | Virtual - UBC ARC Summer School 2026 will feature a mix of foundational and applied sessions delivered by ARC staff and external partners, with sessions scheduled throughout the week. All sessions are optional, and participants are welcome to attend those most relevant to their interests.
All sessions will be held virtually, and are free to attend. The event is open to researchers both within and beyond UBC.
Most sessions will be recorded and made available on the UBC ARC YouTube channel after the event for later viewing
Best part? Their DIY recording studios are available for free to faculty and staff.
