ITALY: STÉPHANE TÉTREAULT AND BOCCHERINI
— I Musici de Montréal invites you to travel to Italy, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Pierre-Mercure hall

I Musici de Montréal Chamber Orchestra is pleased to welcome Stéphane Tétreault, artist in residence and his precious cello Stradivarius from 1707. On the programme are Boccherini’s famous Concerto for Cello in B flat and Beethoven’s Quartet opus 127 in a string orchestra version by our conductor Jean-François Rivest.

Here’s yet another chapter in Yuli’s Heritage, a project we started last year. Our artist in residence, the splendid cellist Stéphane Tétreault, will present Boccherini’s sensual Concerto in B-flat major. Stéphane will join our cello section after his solo performance to play my transcription of one of Beethoven’s key quartets, the majestic Quartet Op. 127, written at the same time as the Ninth Symphony.

2023 EDITION OF THE I MUSICI CHALLENGE
— Last chance! Registration deadline: May 1, 2023

In this short video, Jean-François Rivest invites you to discover the registration process for the 3rd edition of the I Musici Challenge.

I Musici de Montréal invites young musicians from Quebec aged 5 to 25 to challenge themselves, regardless of their instrument.

Our musicians know the significant work that is required to learn a musical instrument. The I Musici Challenge is an invitation to surpass yourself individually by sharing with us, in the form of a video, an excerpt or the entirety of a musical piece (maximum 8 minutes), that you are particularly proud of and which symbolizes self-improvement, perseverance, and your passion for music.

The favourites of the 2023 edition will have the chance to present their work in a concert with the orchestra on Sunday, June 18 at 2 pm at the Pierre-Mercure hall, where our Musici will share with them their love of music. Enough to nourish hope and hang a summer smile.
