A Call for Your Skills from the FMCBC Board of Directors
Happy New Year! Who knows what excitement is in store for us as we begin 2022.
Your board at FMCBC continues to work hard on your behalf as we advocate and educate to protect and maintain access to backcountry areas for quality, non-motorized recreation in BC. Getting our financial house in order was a priority for your board in 2021. I am very pleased to report that we have made excellent progress in that respect. You will see a much improved financial situation at our next AGM which we hope we can host in person in Squamish this summer. Time will tell whether my optimistic outlook to host an in person AGM pays off.
As we continue to reign in our finances, the board will remain as a working board and there are no plans to hire a paid Executive Director. However there are a few skill sets that need to be added to the current board.
They are as follows:
Marketing Director to oversee FMCBC’s marketing and communications needs.
Fundraising Director to advise and manage fundraising activities in a very competitive market.
Archivist – the records of FMCBC are very valuable and could benefit greatly with the advice of an experienced archivist. This position could be in an advisory capacity and would not require you being a board member.
If you feel you have the skills for any of the above positions, I would love to hear from you. Please contact me or any of the board members directly for further discussion.
Thank you,
