2024 Proposed Town Budget Now Available

The 2024 Proposed Budget is now available for public review and input. The proposed budget includes the 2024 operating budget, a five-year capital budget and proposed fees and changes.

The Proposed Budget serves as a starting point for budget discussions with Council and members of the public. Beginning next week, the budget will be reviewed and deliberated by Council at a series of special budget meetings. These meetings will run from Monday, January 8, until Thursday, January 11.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the budget process by sharing their feedback and providing comments to Council.

Natural Asset Inventory & Natural Heritage Study

The Town of The Blue Mountains is taking action to identify, protect, and manage its natural environment to ensure the services and functions it provides remain healthy and sustainable long-term. The second is developing recommendations for identifying, managing and protecting those features of importance to the Town.

The Town and the project consulting team are seeking public input through two open houses. Registration is required.

Thornbury West Update

A Notice of Motion was passed at the December 18, 2023, meeting of Town Council to reconsider previous Council decisions regarding design elements of Louisa Street. Staff will be bringing forward a follow-up Staff Report in January or February of 2024 to evaluate and consider these options. Due to the interconnected nature of the engineering design of the project and the design changes that will potentially come through the direction of this Staff Report, it is now expected that construction of Thornbury West Phase 1B will be pushed back to 2025.
