Lynda.com Users Please Take Note
Lynda.com to become LinkedIn Learning
Lynda.com, a video course database that we subscribe to, will soon be transitioning to LinkedIn Learning, as Lynda.com was purchased by LinkedIn.
BC Libraries Cooperative, our purchasing and licensing consortium, is working with the vendor to ensure continued access to the new platform.
What does this mean? This means that Lynda.com users' accounts will migrate over to the new platform.
What should I do? Please make sure to log in to Lynda before Tuesday, March 23, 2021. This will ensure your history is migrated over to LinkedIn Learning. (We encourage you to save your certificates of completed courses to your own computer as well, just to be safe.)
When is the transition? We have just received notofication that the transition will happern on March 23. Lynda.com/LinkedIn Learning accounts will not be accessible that day.
Will I need a LinkedIn account? No, library users will not need to have a LinkedIn account to access LinkedIn Learning.
This is the first I'm hearing about this—What is Lynda.com? Lynda.com/LinkedIn Learning is an online education database offering over 5,000 video courses by top experts in many fields including web design, business/marketing, software development, photography, video/music/audio editing, 3D animation, graphic design and more. This database requires registration with your library card number and a valid email address.
