The Aviateurs.Québec Merit Award was launched in 2023. The objective of this award is to recognize the contribution of an individual to the promotion of general aviation in Quebec. It was awarded for the first time to Gilles Lapierre.

Gilles Lapierre passed away last December. To permanently recognize his immense contribution to general aviation and Aviateurs.Québec , the Aviateurs.Québec Board of Directors has decided to name this award in his honor.

A new call for applications for the Gilles Lapierre Prize is launched. To learn more about the terms and conditions and how to submit a candidate's name, click on the following button:

Helicopter Pilot Knowledge Update Session

It was on January 25 that Aviateurs.Québec, with the support of Transport Canada and our sponsors (Bell Textron, Benoit Sansoucy - Engel & Volkers and Sierra Assurance), held for the first time a training session specially designed for helicopter pilots. This training had been developed by Transport Canada's General Aviation Safety Program and its working group on rotary wings. It was approved for the purpose of recency qualification..

Brilliantly delivered by Serge Côté of Transport Canada and Patrick Lafleur of Bell Textron Canada, more than 60 pilots were able to benefit from this training. A video recording, sponsored by Benoit Sansoucy - Engel & Volkers, was made of the training. Once the final editing has been approved by Transport Canada, the video will be available on the Aviateurs.Québec website.

After a lunch provided by Aviateurs. Québec and Sierra Assurance and the conclusion of the training, participants were able to visit the manufacturing facilities of the Bell Textron Centre of Excellence. We can be collectively proud of the accomplishments of Bell Textron Canada and the influence of their expertise internationally.

Thank you to all participants. We hope that this training will be useful to you and will help you maintain your skill level and fly your helicopter safely.

Aviateurs.Québec would also like to thank Bell Textron, our host for this event, the volunteers from Bell Textron Canada who accompanied us throughout the day and our two sponsors Benoit Sansoucy - Engel & Volkers and Sierra Assurance who contributed to the success of this day. Click on their logo to learn more about our generous sponsors.
