Welcome back to a new year filled with opportunities to inspire and connect with your students! We hope the holiday season was exactly what you needed it to be. Your dedication to nurturing the well-being and growth of your students is deeply appreciated, and we’re here to support you with meaningful resources to help make 2025 a year of thriving for all.

This week’s educator resources, Thriving Together, focuses on supporting students' mental, emotional, and social well-being through engaging, student-centred resources. These tools empower students to build resilience, develop emotional intelligence, and cultivate a supportive sense of community, helping them navigate challenges and thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Educator Resources:

  1. Curated by BreatheEducation, check out this lesson plan (K-6) that focuses on helping students identify and understand their emotions, develop empathy, and practice emotional regulation through interactive discussions, role-playing activities, and reflective exercises.

  2. Teach Mental Health Awareness with Film, curated by Journeys in Film, includes lessons tailored for grades 3-12 to promote mental wellness through engaging, multimedia learning.

  3. Provided by School Mental Health Ontario, the ONE-CALL Desk Reference is a step-by-step guide for educators to access professional mental health support for students, helping to ensure timely, informed, and collaborative care for their well-being.
