This week’s educator resources, Inclusive Well-Being, support inclusive, student-centred classrooms by exploring identity, culture, and connection. Through inquiry, empathy, and truth-telling, these resources encourage the integration of diverse perspectives, support students with special education needs, and deepen understanding of intersecting identities—all of which cultivate resilience, belonging, and mental well-being for all learners.

Educator Resources:

1. Provided by Empowering the Spirit, the Educational Resource to Support Reconciliation helps educators integrate First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, perspectives, and ways of knowing into classrooms, supporting truth, reconciliation, and inclusive learning environments that promote well-being for all students.

2. Provided by School Mental Health Ontario, Sensory Strategies to Support the Mental Health of Students with Special Education Needs is a resource that offers practical sensory strategies to support the mental health and well-being of students with special education needs by helping them self-regulate and engage in learning.

2. Produced by Route Eleven and SOY H.E.A.T., the video Kids Explain Intersectionality features children articulating how various aspects of identity—such as race, gender, and class—intersect to shape individual experiences, promoting empathy, inclusion, and a deeper understanding of diversity, which collectively enhance the well-being of all students.
