Dear residents of Cole Harbour-Dartmouth,

Welcome to my February eNewsletter for the provincial riding of Cole Harbour-Dartmouth. Please take a moment to look through it for information I trust you will find helpful. If there are areas of information you would like to see in future eNewsletters, I welcome hearing your ideas.

With the spring session of the legislature starting this week, we will be presenting ideas to make life more affordable for working families by reducing the HST by two points, cutting income tax by ending bracket creep, indexing social programs to inflation, reversing harmful cuts to support programs and introduce a bill to create a universal school lunch program for the fourth time.

It is my honour to be your voice in the legislature and I look forward to continuing to work with you on matters important to you.

Feel free to reach out to my office at any time.

Stay well and stay safe,

February is Heart Month

Each year in February, Heart & Stroke takes the opportunity to celebrate Heart Month. This year, the goal was to shed light on the critical health issues of cardiac arrest and its impact across the nation.

Unlike a heart attack, a cardiac arrest is a sudden, life-threatening event caused by an electrical malfunction in the heart, leading it to stop beating unexpectedly. This emergency can affect anyone, regardless of age, and often strikes without warning.

As the month comes to an end, lets remember to stay informed, and help Heart & Stroke double the survival rate of cardiac arrest.
