New Acting Scientific Lead at the NCCHPP

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Marianne Jacques as Acting Scientific Lead for the NCCHPP!

A graduate in political science with a specialization in public administration from the Université de Montréal, Marianne has over 15 years experience at the NCCHPP. Her skills and acute knowledge of the Centre will ensure stability and a smooth transition for our organization.

Marianne takes over from Olivier Bellefleur, recently named Scientific Team Lead of the Psychoactive Products and Substances Unit at the Institut national de santé publique du Québec. We thank Olivier for his 13 years at the NCCHPP.

We wish them both much success in their new roles.

Our colleagues Willy Dunbar and Val Morrison will share their expertise and spark discussion on health inequalities during a presentation entitled Health Inequalities in Public Health Crises: How COVID-19 Impacted Existing Inequalities, during the Metropolis Social Determinants of Health Conference on October 2-3, 2023, in Gatineau.
This conference will bring together experts from multiple disciplines to share knowledge, expertise and insights on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. To consult the conference program, click here.

Our colleague Nicole F. Bernier participated in the Atlantic Summer Institute Conference held in August 2023. She joined a panel entitled: Upstream Policy Momentum in Atlantic Canada, Québec, and Beyond. Her presentation focused on lessons learned from the Health in All Policies approach experience in Québec.
