Postdoctoral positions available in ERC project 

There are two postdoc positions  available within a 5-year European Research Council project aimed at understanding the cascading consequences of new diseases and agricultural pests on society and the environment. The positions are based at the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, a leading research center in sustainability science.

The positions are open to applicants from a diversity of backgrounds but are especially targeting those that have a flavor for data science and a keen interest in the broader impacts and dynamics of emerging diseases and / or agricultural problem species.

2023 Jamaloddin Khanjani Family Scholarship Description

A $4,050 scholarship has been made available through an endowment established by Farid Rohani in honor of Jamaloddin Khanjani, a successful businessman who, because he was Baha’i, lost his business after the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. The scholarship is in honor of Mr. Khanjani’s commitment to and support of education and human rights. It will support a graduate student whose studies focus on human rights and related aspects of public policy and global affairs, with preference given to students in the Masters of Public Policy and Global Affairs program. A successful candidate will be selected by the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs and nominated to the Faculty of Arts Associate Dean, Research in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Marine Debris Postdoc Associate

The Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability and USC Sea Grant are seeking a postdoc to work on ocean plastics.

Truth and Reconciliation Workshop | UBC Botanical Garden

The goal of this 3 hour workshop is to increase the collective capacity of UBC Science to understand the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples as well as to learn about colonial Canadian narratives that impact Indigenous communities.

ʔəm̓i ce:p xʷiwəl is a festival celebration of Indigenous culture and community presented by the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) -- on whose territory the Chan Centre and UBC are located. The 2023 festival will be hosted by Musqueam community members, and will feature Musqueam artists, singers and dancers woven throughout the programming.
