Te'tuxwtun Project
Gathering to Connect & Understand: Phase I of engagement for the Te’tuxwtun project continued building relationships between community members, organizations and the land by sharing the story of Te’tuxwtun and listening to the reflections.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen and share their thoughts and stories with us. By hearing from over 350 people who participated in the project’s Phase I survey and Community Circle Conversations, we have learned about the hopes and desires of the surrounding community. The themes that arose in this phase will combine with the traditional teachings of Snuneymuxw First Nation to create design concepts that prioritize healing the land.
The What We Heard report will help to inform the design concepts for Te’tuxwtun in collaboration with wisdom from the land and the Knowledge Partner family. These concepts will be brought back out into the community in the Fall of 2022 to continue the conversation.
By staying within the teachings of the land and taking a whole systems approach to development, Te’tuxwtun can create a healing community that aims to understand, respect and heal the land so that the housing, education, recreation and accessible services created will benefit all now and in the future.
