THOMPSON-NICOLA REGIONAL LIBRARY LAUNCHES STEAM/MAKER VIRTUAL PROGRAMS FOR KIDS

Kamloops, BC - May 1, 2020 - The Library invites you to virtual STEAM and Maker-based programs launching this weekend for two annual fandom days in May: The Anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts on Saturday, May 2nd, and Star Wars Day on Monday, May 4th.

"STEAM and Maker programs are part of the backbone of library programming for older children and tweens. We're excited to bring these popular components of in-house library programs to the TNRL virtual experience. Encouraging children to engage in activities that promote science, technology, arts and math at home through fandoms will amplify their excitement - and is a great way to start!" says Kaylea Prime, Branch Head of the Clearwater Library.

The Harry Potter: BookTalk & Potions Class video will air on Saturday, May 2nd on the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library's YouTube channel.

The Star Wars: Rebel Alliance Training Academy will air on Monday, May 4th on the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library's YouTube channel.

Both videos will also be shared on the library's Facebook page.

These programs are best suited for children ages 6-12, though anyone is welcome to view them!
