The day-long bus tour will take participants inside four local leading manufacturers: Longboard Architectural Products, Clearbrook Iron Works and Midway Wheelabrating Ltd., BE Power Equipment, and Tiger Tool, providing first-hand insight into the processes, people, and technologies that keep the manufacturing sector in Abbotsford moving forward. The tour also features guest speakers from the manufacturing sector, a group lunch, and valuable networking opportunities.

Manufacturing Excellence Forum - Abbotsford

Join the Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) on October 16, for their Manufacturing Excellence Forum; a gathering of industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from across Canada’s manufacturing sector. This event is an excellent opportunity to engage directly with leaders and industry peers shaping Canadian manufacturing. The Export Navigator Program offers free, ongoing access to community-based export advisors. The program sets you up with the resources and support you need to export.

The Technical Specialist Pilot Program pairs eligible businesses with a network of professional service providers who can help to overcome barriers to be export ready.

Trade Accelerator Program

The Greater Vancouver's Board of Trade -Trade Accelerator Program (TAP)is a Canada-wide program that facilitates strategic growth and fosters internal trade opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses. 

The TAP program offers a range of skills, experience and individual mentorship and coaching across a spectrum of fields.

Trade and Invest British Columbia is asking B.C. businesses to submit questions or concerns related to the U.S. trade tariffs.

You can submit your concerns, sector specific impacts, or questions by completing a short form that will be directed to appropriate experts for timely and informed responses.

Ease of Doing Business Engagement

The Province of B.C. is engaging with B.C. businesses through online engagement, roundtables and community events to hear what is currently working and what can be improved. Ease of Doing Business is an initiative to help make doing business easier through engagement with the B.C. business community by submitting your ideas, challenges and suggestions to the EaseBiz BC submission form.

Startup Challenge

Applications are now open for The Startup Challenge! Abbotsford and Chilliwack based entrepreneurs with a business idea or early-stage venture are encouraged to apply. If accepted, you will attend an orientation to meet your cohort, connect with the Startup Challenge team, and learn what to expect over the program. Over 8 weeks, you will attend workshops covering essential topics like market research, financials, and more. You will be paired with a local mentor for personalized support and accountability. As the program proceeds, you will get to practice and refine your business pitch with feedback provided from your mentor and peers. The Challenge wraps up with a live, Dragon’s Den-style pitch event.

On Thursday, November 13, the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and the Abbotsford News will be presenting the 29th Annual Business Excellence Awards to recognize outstanding organizations and individuals in Abbotsford that strive for our excellence in our community. Award recipients are Leaders in their industry with a commitment to Customer Service, a concern for the Community, and a passion for Innovation.

Abbotsford to Host 2025 BC Culture Days Launch

In recognition of our exceptional cultural programming and commitment to community engagement, the City of Abbotsford has been selected to host the launch event for the 2025 BC Culture Days, a province-wide celebration of arts, culture and heritage. The launch event will kick off a three-week series of free and interactive cultural programming across BC.

Designed to encourage residents to explore and participate in arts, culture and community, the launch event takes place Saturday, September 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Reach Gallery Museum and will feature live music, cultural performances, exhibit tours, interactive family-friendly activities and more.
