JEAN-CLAUDE GRENIER (1949-2019)

It is with great sadness that we share with you the announcement of the death of Jean-Claude Grenier yesterday at the CHU Sherbrooke. Jean-Claude was one of our long-time collaborators on our training and knowledge update program. His teaching has touched many of us.

Our most sincere condolences to the family, his family, his friends.

The family will receive condolences at Gravel & fils funeral home in Chicoutimi on Saturday, March 23 from 2 to 5 pm and Sunday, March 24 from 9 am to 10:30 am. A memorial service will follow.

OUR PILOT CURRENCY TRAININ PROGRAM

Forty pilots met at the Sherbrooke terminal last Sunday for a pilot currency training session session in accordance with CAR 421.05. Yvan Albert (ALM by Avion), called as a substitute for Jean-Claude Grenier, masterfully captivated the audience on the topics of air regulations and the integration of a circuit in uncontrolled area.

MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE AERO CLUB COMO

Located on lake Como in Italy, the Aero Club Como is the  oldest float plane base in the history of aviation (record certified by the Guinness Book of records).

It was a privilege for us to meet recently with representatives of this legendary club who were traveling here in Canada. The head of the delegation, Cesare Baj (2nd from left), spoke about the history of the Aero Club Como and a partnership plan with Aviateurs.Québec.

GIlles Jean, our president, has confirmed the association's enthusiasm to make progress with the Aero Club Como and feed this mutual sharing of practices and experiences in the matter of sea plane flying. We already contribute to the content of a book on which Cesare works .

LACHUTE AIRPORT CELEBRATES 100 YEARS!

After Lac-à-la-Tortue, it's the turn of the Lachute airport to celebrate its hundred years. The celebrations will take place on November 13th, the anniversary of the first landing of a plane on what would become Lachute Airport.

The owners of the aircraft were Adélard Raymond and Harry Wilshire., An unregistered JN-4 biplane, named Raymondale.

Prizes for the contest

You can vote for any of your favorite photos throughout the year 2019. The winning photos of 2019 will be determined by an external juror during the month of January 2020 (see rules) and unveiled at the Annual General Meeting ( AGA) 2020.

To participate

Any photo submitted must be accompanied by the following information:

  • Name and name of the member submitting the photo
  • Membership number (in good standing)
  • Name and name of the person who took the picture (ATTENTION) if this person is not the member transmitting the photo, you certify by submitting the photo that the author is aware and agree to participate in the contest.)
  • The member must also certify that the photographer is not a professional photographer (the photograph does not earn more than 50% of his annual income)
  • Title of the photo
  • Location of the photo
  • The photographer authorizes the contest coordinator to crop my photo, if possible, in case the horizon is visibly crooked.

The "usual" corrections made in post-processing (slight color correction, cropping, straightening, light filtering to increase the sharpness ...) are accepted. Excessive manipulation may be refused by the contest administrator who will then ask for the photo to be re-submitted after "normalization" of the editing parameters.


The photographer authorizes Aviateurs.Québec to use the photos submitted as part of the contest for his publications (Aviateur and L'Aviateur Express magazines, website, Facebook page, Flickr album and other official publications of Aviateurs.Québec) . This partial assignment of rights implies that the photographer remains fully the owner of the rights in the transmitted photos and that they may be used by the author at any time for publication, broadcast or otherwise in any other media or platform. of diffusion.
