Highlights from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board of Directors Meeting of July 14, 2022


The TNRD Board of Directors held its regular Board Meeting in the Twin Rivers boardroom of the TNRD Civic Building in Kamloops. The meeting was held via Zoom and in-person. The meeting was recorded and uploaded to the TNRD’s YouTube channel. You can view the recording here.

CAO Performance Review

The Board approved the launch of a Performance Review process for the Chief Administrative Officer, and creation of a sub-committee of six members including the Board Chair, Board Vice-Chair, two Electoral Area Directors and two Municipal Directors. The sub-committee will be created and the CAO Performance Review process will begin immediately. Read the report here.

Committee Changes and Restructure

The Board approved 14 changes to various committees that were recommended by the Committee of the Whole at its meeting on June 17, 2022, following a presentation by the General Manager of Corporate and Legislative Services and Deputy General Manager of Operations. These changes will align with the 2020-2022 Strategic Plan and with goals of the TNRD Board. Read the report here.

Sun Peaks Security Issuing Bylaw

The Board authorized borrowing of $3.3 million over a 20-year term through the Municipal Finance Authority for the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality (SPMRM). The borrowing will fund construction of a potable water reservoir, transmission line construction and water system upgrades for SPMRM. Read the report here.
