Town closes indoor facilities to maintain essential services

As highly contagious and variant cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in the community, the Town of Okotoks has taken the proactive measure of closing all indoor town facilities to the public from April 29 to May 14 inclusive. This includes the Municipal, Operations, Recreation, and Okotoks Family Resource (OFRC) centres. OFRC is open virtually and by appointment. The Eco Centre will continue to remain open. Town services will continue to be available by phone, email and online.

Get connected to social supports during Mental Health Week

Nearly 1 in 4 Canadians experience severe loneliness and social isolation in their later years, a problem made worse by the pandemic. Mental Health Week (May 3-9) is a great time to seek resources and info that can help with the stress of isolation.

Many people are experiencing challenges with finances, mental health, anxiety, and relationships at this time. If you or people you care about are struggling and need help, contact the Okotoks Family Resource Centre (OFRC) to be connected with helpful services, government programs and community resources and supports. OFRC is open virtually and by appointment, contact 403.995.2626 or familyresources@okotoks.ca.

Need help getting to medical appointments?

Consider booking a trip with the Volunteer Driver Program (VDP). The VDP is a supportive program for adults (18+) living in Okotoks who require assistance with transportation to appointments outside of Okotoks. Volunteer drivers provide safe, free and reliable transportation for residents who would otherwise struggle to meet this need, and safety precautions are in place to operate during COVID-19.
