DOWNTOWN NANAIMO EVENTS

Intersection Complete

Thanks for your patience, Nanaimo! We are happy to share that the newly lighted intersection at the corner of Fifth Street and Bruce Avenue is complete and functioning. Are you curious about the green paint? For increased safety, the City's new standard is to use green paint in junction conflict zones. The green paint in this case indicates where the bike lanes cross through the intersection in each of the four directions.

Cleaning Catch Basins

Please make sure you are prepared and do your part to prevent flooding by clearing any catch basins, culverts, drains and ditches in front of your home.

Keeping catch basins clear allows rainfall  to flow into the storm drains. You can help by using a shovel or a rake to keep catch basins on your street clear of debris.

If flooding occurs, call Public Works at 250-758-5222.
