Local Impact Grants for Aging Well - Maplewood Care Foundation

The Maplewood Care Foundation is pleased to announce the next open call for grants: Local Impact Grants for Aging Well.  Grants are available in three streams: community-based services, capacity and accessibility, and research and are focused on the Abbotsford east region.  Funding is available for up to $20,000 and applications close on December 31, 2025.  Project timelines are April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027.

Community & Capacity streams:

1. Community-based seniors services: Focused on organizations that provide services for older adults at the local level that allow older adults to age in place in their community.  This may include programs, services, training and education for older adults and staff, as well as support for convening and partnership building among partners.

 2. Capacity and accessibility: Short-term, practical investments that strengthen programs serving older adults. These may address one-time or non-core needs—such as equipment, materials, and technology to enhance a program’s capacity, accessibility, or impact. The focus is on immediate, tangible improvements that benefit seniors in community or care settings.

Information on Community and Capacity Streams

Research stream:

3. Research: Shorter-term, applied projects that advance healthy aging for older adults in community or care settings (i.e., home support, day programs, independent living, assisted living, and long-term care). Projects explore or test ideas that improve quality of life, health, inclusion, accessibility, generating practical evidence to inform local programs, policies, or practices. The focus is on learning and action that lead to community impact. We encourage partnerships with local organizations.

Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund - Re-launch

We've re-launched the fund to support those impacted by the Dec 2025 floods. If you can spread the word or make a donation, we'd be truly grateful. https://abbotsfordcf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1398.
