THE FAIRVIEW—CLAYTON PARK REPORT

Navigating Hurricane Season

Happy September, Fairview—Clayton Park!

It's hard to believe that Fall is just around the corner and, with that, comes hurricane season. Please make sure to be prepared for any bad weather that may be coming our way. Secure any loose items around your property and make sure your emergency kits are updated and intact.

The Fall also brings another session of the Legislative Assembly (and its own type of stormy weather). The session will begin on October 12, and I am ready to stand up for your priorities and voice your concerns on the floor of the Legislature.

If you have any issues or suggestions you would like me to address there, please reach out to my office. Your input is invaluable in shaping our legislative agenda.

As your Provincial MLA, it's my privilege to keep you informed about important matters that affect our community. From what I have heard at doorsteps over the last few months, the most pressing issue is the rising cost of living.

Staying Prepared Amid Tropical Weather

As we enter the peak of hurricane season and closely watch the current storm anticipated to affect our region in the coming days, the importance of readiness cannot be overstated.

While the province is launching an awareness campaign aimed at providing advice and information to aid residents in safeguarding themselves and their properties, it’s crucial to recognize that the responsibility to prepare ultimately rests with each individual and family.

To best equip ourselves for such scenarios, having an emergency kit prepared, developing, and reviewing a family emergency plan, and securing your property are just some of the top ways to get prepared.
