Happy New Year and every success in 2019!

Hi everyone.

First of all, I wish you an excellent year 2019! May it be prosperous and happy.

THANKS FOR YOUR COMMITMENT IN 2018

The year 2018 brought us a fair share of good news and also thrilling and major challenges to overcome! I would like to thank all those who participated actively in 2018, and particularly, the members of our six working groups. You allow us to provide concrete responses to many issues that make up your reality. Without you, our task would be impossible.

A Priority: Scarcity of Labour

A file has drawn much of our attention: the scarcity of labour. With close to 30 000 positions to fill in the next 10 years, our industry is facing a major challenge. To address it, the aerospace career promotion campaign, OSE L’AÉRO/AEROFUTURE, was launched. Tangible results have already materialized with an increase in the number of enrollment applications in our aerospace schools.

This campaign, which will continue in 2019, is the fruit of a common effort of several institutions (ÉNA, ÉMAM, CAMAQ, Aéro Montréal) and of our industry partners (Bombardier, CAE, PWC, Bell, Airbus and IAMAW).

Aerospace Innovation Forum held in 2018

In 2018, the sixth edition of the Aerospace Innovation Forum was held, during the fourth International Aerospace Week in Montréal. The attendance of more than 1 000 deciders of the Canadian and international aerospace industry was the occasion to reaffirm the global leadership of Québec’s aerospace. “Aerospace in the Era of Disruptive Technologies” was the theme.

2019 OBJECTIVES — GROW AND REACH!

New strategic positioning

The year 2019 marks the beginning of a new strategic positioning for Aéro Montréal. It will be launched in the next months and years. This redefinition of our priorities and structures will make us all the more relevant in our actions. This positioning will be organized around four strategic pillars: “Labour”, “Growth”, “Innovation, competitiveness and productivity” and “Image, influence and marketing”.

Bombardier’s Employees Redeployment Committee

Aéro Montréal will also play a very active role in the redeployment of the employees recently released by Bombardier. At the end of 2018, we established an Employees Redeployment Committee. This committee will provide us tangible tools to connect the available offers with the affected workers. Given the scarcity of labour, we’re convinced that the vast majority of these people will find a job. Our challenge is to make sure they will stay in the aerospace industry.

Fifth Edition of the International Aerospace Week in Montréal

In its fifth consecutive year, one of the largest get-togethers of the global aerospace industry in North America will be held from April 15 to April 19! For a full week, participate in preeminent international events and meet with all industry leaders:

  • Monday, April 15: Seminar on defence and major projects of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and Drones Day
  • Tuesday, April 16: Global Supply Chain Summit, “Artificial Intelligence: reinventing the supply chain”
  • Tuesday, April 16, Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18: Aéromart Montréal

We look forward to see many of you at each of our events! Aéro Montréal will also attend several global events, such as the Bourget Airshow. Joins us for these national and international meetings! Aéro Montréal will put everything in action to accompany you and best support you to develop business!
